What We Did
Lighting / Video / Rigging
Stage and Light provided Lighting and Video for the 2019 World Tour of The Australian Pink Floyd Show, encompassing over 100 shows across the UK, Europe, North America and Canada.
Stage and Light’s Tom Mumby was responsible for designing the look of the show. His design centres around a 5m circle truss framed with 24 x Robe LED Beam 150’s. Flanking the circle are four 16ft pre-rig trusses, two either side of the circle, which house 16 x Mac Axiom Hybrid spots, 12 x Robe Spiider washes, 8 x Atomic strobes and 8 x 2lite moles.
On the upstage line is 6 x Axiom’s, used for audience breakup looks and band backlight along with 6 x Robe Spiiders, 4 more Atomic strobes and 6 x 2 Lite Moles. Side light is taken care of by 10 x Robe LED Beam 150’s carefully positioned amongst the bands backline.
Along the downstage edge is a row of 10 x 2 Lite Molefeys facing the audience for the big blinder moments and a 40ft front truss holds 9 x 150 Beams for key light and also provides the idea position to light up the inflatable Teacher, Skippy the Kangaroo and Inflatable Pig off to stage right during the Arena Shows.
A 4ft wireless DMX Mirrorball with internal rotator neatly sits behind the mid truss waiting for the spectacular reveal during the Comfortably Numb guitar solo made famous by Pink Floyds the 1994 Pulse Tour.
Mumby pre-programmed most of the show on Capture before heading into rehearsals for 2 nights to make fine adjustments with the whole lighting rig.
The show opens with a silhouette of the band on a 40ft kabuki wraped around the stage, simply achieved by 5 x 650w Aacclaim fresnels.
